The Lottery: The following is a famous story by the same author who wrote "Charles". It is called "The Lottery." Here you have a written version and then an audio version via www.youtube.com. What do these stories, "Charles" and "The Lottery" have in common? The theme of the stories is similar: Jackson does not think that people have much common sense and that they can be both dense and cruel.
